The Best Valentine's Day Self-Care Practice

No partner? No problem. Everyone can use Valentine’s Day for self-love, and this facial steam is the perfect way to celebrate. It utilizes the rose, which can serve as a powerful reminder of love and hope. No matter your relationship status, you can celebrate love by honoring your body with a soothing self-care practice.


What You’ll Need

  • Rosemary Essential Oil

  • Lavender Essential Oil

  • Rose petals from one rose flower

  • A bowl of boiling water

  • A towel


  1. Carefully pour a pot of boiling water into a bowl until it’s about halfway full. 

  2. Add five drops of Rosemary Essential Oil to symbolize enduring love for yourself, five drops of Lavender Essential Oil to symbolize femininity and spirituality, and a few rose petals to symbolize hope.  Save one petal outside the bowl for later.

  3. Cover your head with a towel and lean over the bowl.  Take a few deep breaths in and appreciate all you have accomplished in your life.

  4. Breathe in for a couple of minutes, infusing yourself with unconditional love.

  5. Arise from the steam and grab the single petal. Close it in your palms as you set an intention of endless self-love and respect for your mind, body and soul.
